Once familiar with the blog in general and in particular WordPress blog, you probably have encountered many times the two terms Trackback and Pingback on his blog.
But what are they and how effective it is certainly not all of us know. In this article, Phamen will be with you in your research on the functions Pingback and Trackback.
Trackbacks
Trackbacks are first developed by SixApart, the blog owner MovebleType package. SixApart has a very complete introduction to trackbacks.
Speaking briefly, TracbBack is designed to provide a means of communication between the website: it's a way of communicating with Blogger Blogger A B said, "This is something that maybe you're interested." . To do this, Person A sends a TrackBack ping to the bloggers B.
Can be explained more easily understood as follows:
A blogger posts something on their blog.
Blogger B want to comment on Person A's blog, but want your readers to see what I have said on the blog of Person A, and can write for the blog comment on the blog A Blogger Blogger B.
Blogger B wrote on his own blog and sends a trackback to the blog Blogger A.
A Blogger blog receives trackback, and displays it as a comment on the article's original Blogger A. This comment contains a link to the article by Blogger B.
This idea helps the discussion was introduced to more people (including readers of Blogger Blogger A and B can follow the link to read others' posts), and have a level of authenticity to the trackback comment because their origin is from other blogs. Unfortunately, the trackback is often not actually sent to be confirmed, and even they can be forged.
Most send trackback to Person A only a few brief sentences (known as the "excerpt") of what has been said that Blogger B. It's like a provocation, causing Person A (and his readers) see part B that Blogger has written, and encourage them to click on to visit the Blogger B to read the rest.
Blogger B's trackback to Person A is usually sent along with every post another comment. This means that Person A can edit the contents of the trackback on his own server, and also means that the whole idea of "validation" is almost unresolved (Note: Person A only can edit the contents of the trackback on his blog. You can not edit a blog on Blogger B).
Pingbacks
Pingbacks are designed to solve some problems with the trackback. The official pingback documentation shows seem better than pingbacks trackback.
For example, writing a great Phamen on his blog. Zin's Phamen read and comment on this article, and linkback to the original post of Zin. Using pingback, Zin's software can automatically notify Phamen Zin said the article was linked Phamen posts, and Phamen software can do the same thing, that is well informed Zin said the Phamen article has links to articles of Zin.
There are three fundamental differences between pingbacks and trackbacks, which are:
Trackback ping back and use communication technologies are very different (XML-RPC and HTTP POST)
Pingbacks support auto-detection, ie, software that automatically search link in the article, and automatically try to pingback those URLs. Meanwhile trackback to do manually by entering the URL to trackback.
Pingbacks do not send any content.
The best way to understand about pingbacks is as remote comments:
A blogger wrote a post on his blog.
Blogger B wrote on her own blog and link to the article by Blogger A. This link will automatically send a pingback to Person A when both are enabled blog pingbacks.
A blogger getting this pingback, then Person A's blog posts automatically go to the Blogger B to confirm the pingback has been made.
Pingback usually only displayed on Person A's blog as a link to the article by Blogger B. In this way, the blog owner may not edit pingback on his blog (other than the trackback, trackback recipient can edit the summary of it). Automatic validation process provides a level of authenticity and forgery pingback makes far more difficult.
Some people have an advantage over that trackbacks because readers of Person A can at least see what some blogger B posts, and then decide if they want to read on or not. Some others said that pingback or because they can make the connection can verify the middle of the article.
Verifying Pingbacks and Trackbacks
The comment on the blog often been criticized as lacking credibility, because anyone can write anything by any name they like: there is no verification process to make sure that people have written or no. Both have trackback and pingback purpose is to provide ways to verify the commentators.
